Assignment Title: Case Study 2: Chron's Disease

 

What I learned: In this assignment I learned how to examine case studies, research the pathophysiology of health conditions, interpret lab values, calculate anthropometric data, investigate drug-nutrient interactions, and make medical nutrition therapy.


Reflection to assignment: This assignment made me realize the challenge and detective work that it takes to provide medical nutrition therapy recommendations to clients. There is so much information to consider, interpret, and research before one can provide accurate and useful MNT recommendations. This assignment gave me an appreciation to all that I have learned in my undergraduate nutrition studies. All of the information I have learned comes together for practical use.


Relevance to the profession: Medical Nutrition Therapy is a very important component of Nutrition and Food Science as a profession. The skills taught through this assignment are critical for not only clinical dietitians, but every professional in the field. Also, being able to orally describe information that you have gathered and describe to a group of people in order for them to understand is critical for any job. Being able to give oral presentations in which you give your information in a way that is captivating and easy to understand is a great skill in which I proved that I have from this project.
