Assignment Title: Case Study 1: Diverticulitis
What I learned: In this assignment I learned how to examine case studies by researching pathophysiology of health conditions, interpreting lab values, calculating anthropometric data, investigating drug-nutrient interactions, and giving medical nutrition therapy.
Reflection to assignment: This
assignment made me realize the challenge and care it takes to provide accurate
medical nutrition therapy recommendations to clients. There is so much
information to consider, interpret and research before providing useful
MNT. I enjoyed being able to combine and apply a wide array of knowledge
gathered throughout my undergraduate studies into one assignment.
Relevance to the profession: The
skills taught through this assignment are an essential
component to pursuing any profession in Nutrition and Food Sciences or Nursing.
Being able to convey a message in a concise and accurate manner is a valuable
skill applicable to all aspects of life.
